EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick, known for his pale complexion, has confessed his apprehension about one aspect of his upcoming Strictly Come Dancing journey: the spray tans.
The 30-year-old actor, who recently triumphed in the 2023 Strictly Christmas special, is set to compete in the main series this year. While he’s eager to showcase his dance skills and revel in the costumes, the prospect of a bronzed look doesn’t excite him.
“Not the spray tans, no. I like my pale look,” Borthwick admitted to Whattowatch. “But as far as everything else goes, all the costumes, I’m really looking forward to it.”

“This is a fresh challenge and it will be so different to be learning a new dance every week and for the public to have their say,” Borthwick said. “I’m hoping to be Salsa-ing around Albert Square in no time.”
The actor, who wowed judges with a perfect score of 40 during the Christmas special, is ready to embrace the excitement and pressure of the competition. He’s also seeking advice from fellow soap stars who’ve previously taken part in Strictly, preparing himself for the whirlwind experience.
