Fri Sep 13 10:16:00 UTC 2024: ## Yodel to Hire Thousands Ahead of Peak Holiday Season

Parcel delivery company Yodel, which narrowly avoided collapse earlier this year, is preparing for a busy holiday season by hiring thousands of workers. The company plans to recruit over 3,000 couriers and warehouse staff in the coming weeks, ahead of Black Friday and the Christmas shopping rush.

This recruitment drive, which has seen Yodel hire as many as 7,000 staff in past years, comes shortly after the company secured an £85 million funding package from Paypoint and Independent Growth Finance. Yodel anticipates a significant increase in parcel deliveries, expecting a more than 50% rise in the next three months.

The new roles offer flexible working, allowing couriers to adjust deliveries around their existing schedules. There is also potential for temporary roles to become permanent. Yodel’s CEO, Mike Hancox, said the company is committed to supporting its courier network and providing competitive benefits.

Yodel, which makes over 190 million deliveries annually, serves a range of clients, including meal kit company Gousto, Argos, Vinted, and Very Group.
