The critically acclaimed 2018 horror film, Tumbbad, starring Sohum Shah, has made a triumphant return to theaters, with advance bookings exceeding 21,000 tickets, indicating an estimated opening day business of 1 crore rupees. Trade Expert Atul Mohan predicts this number will “grow exponentially,” attributing the success to the film’s strong content, lack of competition in the current market, and a well-executed marketing campaign.

Tumbbad, directed by Anil Bharve and produced by Sohum Shah and Anand L Rai, garnered widespread acclaim upon its initial release but failed to achieve box office success. However, its popularity soared on OTT platforms, attracting a wider audience over time.

Mohan highlights the film’s strategic re-release marketing campaign as a key factor in its success. “I have not seen a marketing campaign this big for any other re-release,” he remarked.
