Fri Sep 13 00:16:00 UTC 2024: ## IKN Housing for Civil Servants Ready: Comfortable and Smart Home System

**Penajam Paser Utara, Kalimantan Timur -** The Indonesian government continues to develop the new capital city, Nusantara (IKN), in East Kalimantan. The latest development includes a new housing complex for civil servants (ASN) in the IKN core area.

Minister of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform, Abdullah Azwar Anas, inspected the housing complex during a recent cabinet meeting. He expressed his satisfaction with the comfortable living conditions and modern features of the housing units. Each unit boasts three bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, dining room, kitchen, and a separate laundry area. Furthermore, the complex utilizes a smart home system, allowing residents to access their rooms via barcode scanning.

“The president has decided that each ASN family will be allocated one unit, eliminating the need for sharing,” Minister Anas emphasized, highlighting the government’s commitment to providing comfortable living spaces for their employees.

The initial phase of the housing project will see 29 towers with approximately 1,740 units available for ASN. The remaining towers will be designated for members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri). With a total of 47 towers planned, the entire complex will accommodate 2,820 units.

The Minister believes the proximity of the housing complex to the IKN’s national axis will provide easy access for ASN to engage in physical activities like jogging or walking to their workplaces.

“The president expects the housing units to be fully integrated with digital systems, ensuring high-quality living spaces for all ASN,” Minister Anas concluded.
