**New Delhi, India** – After nearly six months of incarceration, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal walked out of Tihar Jail on Friday evening, greeted by a jubilant throng of supporters who braved heavy rain to celebrate his release. The Supreme Court granted him bail in connection with the alleged Delhi excise policy scam, dismissing the corruption and money laundering charges against him.
Kejriwal, visibly emotional, addressed the cheering crowd, emphasizing that his time in jail had only strengthened his resolve. He declared his intention to continue fighting against what he termed “anti-national forces” seeking to divide the country.
“They put me in jail, thinking they would break me,” he stated, “But let me tell you, my courage and strength have grown 100 times stronger.”
The road outside Tihar Jail was filled with thousands of AAP supporters who erupted in celebration upon the news of his release. The crowd, a sea of humanity, chanted slogans, played patriotic music, and burst firecrackers – despite the recent ban imposed by the Delhi government.
Senior AAP leaders, including Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, joined the festivities, dancing and addressing the crowd.
Upon exiting the jail, Kejriwal, standing on top of a car, thanked the supporters for their unwavering support and the prayers offered on his behalf. He then embarked on a celebratory roadshow from Chandgi Ram Akhara to Flag Staff Road, greeted with flowers and cheers from supporters.
At his residence, Kejriwal was welcomed by his parents and family, who performed an “aarti” and bestowed blessings upon him.
The release comes as a significant victory for Kejriwal and the AAP, as his supporters view it as a vindication of his innocence. They believe the charges against him were politically motivated, aimed at undermining his leadership and the party’s popularity.
