Fri Sep 13 19:46:48 UTC 2024: ## Mumbai City FC Stage Epic Comeback to Draw with Mohun Bagan in ISL Opener

**Kolkata, September 13, 2024:** Mumbai City FC displayed incredible resilience in the opening match of the Indian Super League season, erasing a two-goal deficit to hold host Mohun Bagan Super Giant to a 2-2 draw at the Salt Lake Stadium on Friday.

Mohun Bagan dominated the first half, taking the lead in the 9th minute when a defensive lapse by Mumbai City allowed Liston Colaco to score an own goal. Alberto Rodriguez then doubled the lead in the 28th minute, leaving Mumbai City trailing by two goals at the break.

However, the tide turned completely in the second half as Mumbai City mounted a furious comeback. Tiri, who had scored the own goal in the first half, redeemed himself with a goal in the 70th minute to bring Mumbai back into the game. Substitute Thaer Krouma then delivered the equaliser in the final minute of regulation time, completing an improbable comeback.

This dramatic draw mirrored the Durand Cup final just two weeks ago, where Mohun Bagan conceded a two-goal lead only to lose in a penalty shootout after NorthEast United FC equalised in the second half.

The thrilling match sets the stage for a promising season ahead, with Odisha FC taking on Chennaiyin FC and Bengaluru FC facing East Bengal FC on Saturday.
