The Brazos Christian Eagles dominated the Hearne Eagles in a Week 3 matchup, securing a 15-8 victory on Friday night at Brazos Christian Field.
The Eagles built a commanding lead in the first quarter thanks to a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown by Truett Goodyk, followed by a two-yard rushing touchdown by quarterback Cooper Murr. Brazos Christian further extended their advantage with a safety, putting them up 15-0 at the end of the first quarter.
While scoring stalled for both teams until the fourth quarter, Hearne managed to score a touchdown on a 44-yard pass and add a safety of their own. However, the Eagles’ early lead proved insurmountable, resulting in the 15-8 final score.
Murr led the Eagles’ offense with 64 passing yards and 40 rushing yards, while Jackson Caffey contributed 66 total yards on eight touches.
Brazos Christian will continue their season at home next Friday with a 7 p.m. matchup against Bay Area Christian. Hearne, meanwhile, will travel to play Marlin at 7:30 p.m. next Friday.
