**New York, NY** – Taylor Swift walked the red carpet at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards solo, without her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Kelce was absent from the ceremony due to his NFL commitments, as he was at practice with his team ahead of their upcoming game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Despite being physically separated, Kelce sent his support to Swift on his podcast “New Heights”, wishing her luck in her bid for multiple Moonman awards. Swift is nominated for a whopping 12 awards, including eight for her “Fortnight” collaboration with Post Malone, as well as Artist of the Year and Best Pop.

The couple has been enjoying a whirlwind year, with Swift cheering on Kelce during his Super Bowl victory in February and Kelce making appearances at her Eras Tour concerts. Swift has expressed her pride in their relationship, highlighting their mutual support and preference for openness over secrecy.

“I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” Swift told TIME magazine last December.

Kelce has also acknowledged the public scrutiny they face as a high-profile couple, but insists on being supportive of Swift’s career and personal life.

“The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life,” he told the Wall Street Journal. “When she acts like that, I better not be the one acting all strange.”

Swift is currently on a break from her Eras Tour but will resume performances in Miami in October.
