Thu Sep 12 00:00:27 UTC 2024: ## Shevchenko Aims for Knockout in Rematch Against Grasso at UFC 306

LAS VEGAS – Valentina Shevchenko is determined to avoid a judges’ decision in her upcoming rematch against Alexa Grasso at UFC 306. The former women’s flyweight champion, who has a 0-1-1 record in the rivalry, will face the current champion on September 14 in the first live sporting event at Sphere.

Shevchenko, who lost the title to Grasso via submission at UFC 285, is still unhappy with the judges’ decision in their last fight, a split draw. The former champion believes she won the fight and is critical of the scoring, particularly the 10-8 score awarded to Grasso in Round 5 by judge Mike Bell.

This time around, Shevchenko is focused on finishing the fight and leaving no room for doubt. “The concern is to finish the fight,” she told reporters at UFC 306 media day. “It’s like when to seize opportunity, just do what you have to do, one hundred percent. Finish the fight.”

The trilogy bout, which takes place during a Noche UFC event celebrating Mexican Independence Day, is expected to be a highly charged affair, with the crowd heavily favoring Grasso. However, Shevchenko is unfazed by the outside noise, having faced adversity throughout her career, including a world muay Thai championship where she claimed victory despite a biased referee.

Shevchenko is confident in her ability to overcome the challenges ahead and is determined to reclaim the title she once held. Fans can expect a thrilling rematch as both fighters are eager to prove their dominance in the Octagon.
