Thu Sep 12 18:36:00 UTC 2024: ## Travis Head Joins Elite Club With Explosive T20I Innings Against England

**Southampton, England** – Australian opener Travis Head continued his stellar form in the first T20I against England on Wednesday, smashing a half-century and equaling an Australian record for most runs scored in a single over.

Head plundered 30 runs from Sam Curran’s fifth over, including three fours and three towering sixes, as Australia piled up a formidable total of 179 at The Rose Bowl. The hosts, in reply, were dismissed for 151, handing Australia a comfortable 28-run victory.

Head’s 30-run blitz ties him with Australian legends Ricky Ponting, Daniel Christian, and Mitch Marsh for the most runs scored in a single T20I over. While the feat is impressive, the international record is held by Samoa’s Darius Visser, who smashed 39 runs in a single over against Vanuatu last month.

Head’s explosive innings, which saw him reach his half-century inside the Powerplay, further solidified his position as the world’s top-ranked T20I batter. The left-hander has now scored four half-centuries in the format this year.
