Thu Sep 12 00:51:48 UTC 2024: ## Hamilton Woman Arrested After Escaping Custody and Ramming Police Cruiser
**Hamilton, ON** – A woman who escaped custody earlier this week and rammed a police cruiser has been arrested, thanks to tips from the public.
Mary Curran, 34, was wanted for the incident which occurred in Hamilton’s east end. Curran was last seen wearing a hospital gown heading east on Barton Street from Hamilton General Hospital.
On Wednesday, members of the High Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) located and arrested Curran in the area of Augusta and John Streets. Police say the arrest was made “without incident” thanks to community tips.
Curran was facing charges of operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by drug, flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime, and fail to comply with release order. She has now also been charged with escape lawful custody.
The charges have not yet been tested in court. Anyone with further information is encouraged to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
