Thu Sep 12 00:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Samsung Galaxy Users: You Have 14 Days to Set Up a Samsung Account

**Seoul, South Korea** – Samsung is tightening its grip on app installations on its Galaxy devices, requiring users to set up a Samsung account by September 25th to access the Galaxy Store. This comes as Google also cracks down on low-quality apps and restricts sideloading on the Play Store.

While Samsung has previously encouraged users to create accounts, this is the first time the company has made it mandatory to access its app store. According to SammyFans, users who have updated to the Galaxy Store version 6.6.13.10 will be unable to download apps without logging into a Samsung Account.

The move echoes Google’s ongoing efforts to consolidate its Play Store as the primary app source for Android devices. Google is actively promoting Play Protect and AI-powered threat detection, while also introducing an Integrity API to prevent app installations outside the Play Store.

While Samsung’s motivation for this sudden shift remains unclear, all Galaxy users are advised to set up a Samsung account immediately to avoid losing access to essential apps and updates.

“This is a surprising move,” said one tech analyst. “But it’s clear that both Google and Samsung are taking app security very seriously.”

Users who haven’t already created a Samsung account should do so as soon as possible to avoid any potential issues.
