Thu Sep 12 13:20:49 UTC 2024: ## Bollywood Actor Rahul Bose Calls For Industry-Wide Sexual Harassment Audits After Malayalam Film Industry Report

Bollywood actor Rahul Bose has called for all industries to follow the lead of Malayalam cinema and conduct internal investigations into sexual harassment. This comes after the release of the Hema Committee Report, which exposed widespread sexual abuse within the Malayalam film industry.

Bose, who is promoting his upcoming film “Berlin,” highlighted the importance of self-reflection, stating, “People are only talking about it because it’s in the news. But this is not just about one industry. Why has no other industry come out and said we should also do something like this?”

He emphasized that industries like banking, law, and even accounting should form similar committees to conduct audits and raise awareness about sexual harassment.

Following the release of the Hema Committee Report, Kerala Police have registered FIRs against eleven individuals, including nine from the film industry, based on complaints lodged by actresses. South superstar Mohanlal resigned from the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists in August after allegations of sexual abuse against some members of the governing body were made public. He pledged that the cases will be thoroughly investigated.

Bose’s upcoming film “Berlin,” set in 1993 New Delhi, tells the story of a deaf-mute young man wrongly accused of being a spy. The film, starring Aparshakti Khurana and Ishwak Singh, will be released on ZEE5 on September 13th.
