Thu Sep 12 00:35:00 UTC 2024: ## Tipra Motha Leader Calls for Reform in TTAADC, Citing Years of Mismanagement
**Agartala, September 11**: Tipra Motha Party founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma has urged Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha to address long-standing issues in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), citing years of mismanagement and poor governance under the previous administration.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, Debbarma, who is also the Chairman of the Advisory and Administrative Reforms Committee (AARC), highlighted the challenges faced by the TTAADC due to ad hoc recruitment practices in the past. He stated that many officials were hired without following standard procedures, often through walk-in interviews, which has resulted in limited employment opportunities, inadequate infrastructure, and poor healthcare and education services for indigenous communities.
Debbarma acknowledged the current administration’s efforts to eliminate practices like one-time relaxation promotions and re-employment of retired staff, but expressed concern that political affiliations continue to influence hiring processes, often prioritizing party loyalty over merit. He lamented the lack of opportunities for talented young people, who are often forced to seek jobs elsewhere.
He called for a comprehensive plan to address these issues, proposing a partnership between the TTAADC and the central government to improve education quality and provide hope for the next generation. Debbarma also appealed to the Chief Minister to reform a system that has long denied jobs to deserving indigenous people based on their political affiliations.
“The situation demands a solution,” Debbarma stated, emphasizing the need for joint efforts to create more opportunities for the youth and inspire a sense of aspiration and hope in the TTAADC.
