Former professional wrestler Nikki Bella has filed for divorce from her estranged husband, Artem Chigvintsev, according to Fox News Digital. The “Total Divas” star submitted a petition for dissolution of marriage with minor children in the Superior Court of Napa, California.
The divorce filing comes just weeks after Chigvintsev was arrested for domestic violence on August 29th, three days after the couple celebrated their wedding anniversary.
Nikki Bella, who filed for divorce under her full name, Stephanie Nicole Garcia-Colace, and Chigvintsev share a four-year-old son, Matteo.
The couple met while paired together on Dancing with the Stars for season 25, while Bella was still engaged to John Cena. They began dating in 2018 and married in August 2022.
Following Chigvintsev’s arrest, a representative for Bella stated that “this is a private matter, and Nikki asks for privacy for her and her family at this time.”
Representatives for Chigvintsev, Bella, and Dancing with the Stars did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
