Manchester United should not pursue a move for free agent midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to former striker Louis Saha. Despite claims from Rabiot’s mother and agent, Veronique, that they are on good terms with United officials, Saha believes the club already has adequate options in midfield.
With the recent arrival of Uruguayan international Manuel Ugarte, alongside established players Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo, Saha argues that United’s midfield is well-stocked. He highlighted the departure of Scott McTominay as a loss, but does not see Rabiot as a suitable replacement, claiming the Frenchman lacks the qualities to support the attack.
“I don’t believe he fits the profile of player that we need at the moment,” Saha said. “We’ve just signed Ugarte and we also have Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo, so we already have No.6s and No.8s in the squad.”
Rabiot, who recently left Juventus after contract negotiations stalled, has also been linked with a move to Newcastle United. He is reportedly not interested in a move to Saudi Arabia at this point and wishes to remain in Europe.
