**Forest Park, GA** – The City of Forest Park marked the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks with its annual Public Safety Remembrance Ceremony at Fire Station No. 1. The event, held in collaboration with the Forest Park Ministers Association, paid tribute to the bravery and selflessness of first responders, both on that tragic day and in their ongoing work protecting the community.
The ceremony featured speeches from local officials, including Mayor Angelyne Butler, City Council member Kimberly James, and City Manager Ricky Clark Jr. Forest Park Police Chief Brandon Criss spoke about the resilience of the nation and the sacrifices made by first responders and their families.
“Their sacrifice epitomizes the extraordinary bravery and selflessness that define our first responders,” Criss said, adding that “Sept. 11 also represents the resilient spirit of our nation — one that endures, rebuilds and unites in the face of adversity.”
The ceremony also included a moment of silence, a flag lowering ceremony, and prayers from members of the Forest Park Ministers Association.
