**SHELL LAKE, WI** – Barron Electric Cooperative has shown its commitment to community safety by donating over $1,200 to the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Washburn County. The funds will be used to purchase two Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and four LifeVac choking rescue devices.

The ADRC was seeking donations for the AEDs, and Barron Electric’s Board of Directors, adhering to their Cooperative Principle #7 of “Concern for Community,” provided the final amount needed to reach the goal.

“We are proud to support the ADRC in their efforts to ensure the safety of seniors in our community,” said Tim Kessler, Barron Electric Board Treasurer. “These devices can be life-saving in emergencies, and we are confident they will make a real difference.”

Valerie VanderBent, nutrition director of the ADRC of Washburn County, expressed her gratitude for the donation. “We are so thankful for Barron Electric’s generous support,” she said. “These AEDs and LifeVacs will be valuable tools for our staff and will help us to better serve our seniors and keep them safe.”
