Wed Sep 11 09:40:17 UTC 2024: ## Rijiju Slams Rahul Gandhi for “Anti-India” Remarks in US

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has sharply criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his recent remarks in the United States, claiming they are “anti-India” and aimed at damaging the country’s image. Gandhi, during his visit to the US, raised concerns about India’s democracy, the border dispute with China, and issues related to minorities.

Rijiju countered Gandhi’s claims, stating that India’s democracy has never been under attack since the Emergency period in 1975. He also dismissed Gandhi’s concerns about Chinese troop presence in Ladakh, saying there was no clear demarcation before 1962 and that such claims were aimed at “demeaning India.”

BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia echoed Rijiju’s condemnation, accusing Gandhi of “weakening Indian democracy” by making such statements on foreign soil and portraying a negative image of India globally. He called Gandhi a “black spot in Indian democracy.”

Gandhi’s remarks have sparked a heated debate with the BJP accusing him of spreading misinformation and undermining India’s interests.
