Tired of the same old Wordle routine? The New York Times has launched a brand new word puzzle, “Strands,” designed to put your vocabulary to the test.
Unlike Wordle, where players guess a single word, Strands challenges players to identify six to eight words hidden within a jumbled grid of letters, all connected by a daily theme. The game, curated by the same team behind Wordle, features a user-friendly design while offering a brain-tickling challenge.
Each day, a new grid of 54 letters appears. Players must select chains of letters that form words, all linked by the day’s theme, which is revealed on the left side of the screen.
An added twist comes with the “Spangram,” a hidden word spanning the entire grid, revealed only after finding all six words. This clever name, a combination of “span” and “anagram,” adds another layer of challenge to the game.
“Strands” is accessible every day in the Games section of the NYT website. So, are you ready to put your word skills to the test? Head over to the NYT website and try it out!
