Thu Sep 12 04:51:00 UTC 2024: ## IAS Officer Artika Shukla: From Medical Student to Top Ranker, Inspired by Brother’s Success

**New Delhi, September 12, 2024:** Artika Shukla, a young woman with a dream, defied the odds and achieved the impossible by cracking the prestigious UPSC Civil Services Exam on her very first attempt, securing an All India Rank of 4 in 2015. This remarkable achievement was inspired by her brother, Gaurav Shukla, who had cleared the same exam in 2012.

Shukla, who had initially pursued a medical degree, decided to follow her brother’s footsteps after witnessing his success. Instead of taking coaching classes, she diligently studied from her brother’s notes, proving that hard work and determination are the true keys to success.

Her journey took an interesting turn at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, where she met Jasmeet Singh, an IAS officer who had achieved an AIR 3 in the same year. Their bond blossomed, leading to a wedding in 2017, making them a power couple in the Indian Administrative Service.

While Shukla was initially assigned the Union Territory cadre, she later joined the Rajasthan cadre, where her husband Jasmeet Singh serves.

Artika Shukla’s story is a testament to the power of inspiration, dedication, and perseverance. It’s a reminder that dreams can be achieved with hard work and unwavering belief in oneself.
