**ATLANTA (AP)** – A Delta Air Lines Airbus A350 bound for Tokyo collided with a smaller Bombardier CRJ-900 operated by Endeavor Air on a taxiway at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Tuesday morning. The wing of the larger plane struck the tail of the regional jet, which was preparing to take off for Lafayette, Louisiana.
Despite the collision, no injuries were reported. Passengers from both planes were safely evacuated, with one plane being bused back to the terminal and the other returning to a gate under its own power.
The incident caused minimal disruptions to operations at the world’s busiest airport.
Delta stated that the wing of the Airbus and the tail of the smaller plane were damaged. They are cooperating with the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration, who are both investigating the incident.
Passengers on the Airbus numbered 221, while the regional jet carried 56 passengers. Delta has promised to rebook all passengers on other flights.
The collision occurred on a clear morning with low temperatures of 51 degrees Fahrenheit and light, variable winds.
