Former President Donald Trump’s ear appears to have healed well after being hit by a bullet during a rally in Pennsylvania last July, according to a recent report by New York magazine.
Journalist Olivia Nuzzi, who interviewed Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate, described the wound as “a minor distortion that resembled not a crucifixion wound but the distant aftermath of a sunburn.”
While Trump initially described the experience as “surreal” and claimed to have felt the bullet impact, Nuzzi noted the wound was “pristine” and “looked normal” upon inspection.
Dr. Ronny Jackson, Trump’s former White House physician and now a Texas congressman, confirmed that the bullet had “scooped” some skin and fat from the top of the ear, but that it did not require stitches.
Despite the incident, which resulted in one fatality and two other injuries, Trump has reportedly “pretty much recovered” and attributes his quick healing to his strong constitution.
The incident has since been investigated by the FBI, which has found no evidence of collaborators in the shooting and has determined that the gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, held a “mixture of ideologies” and had researched both Trump and President Biden.
