Tue Sep 10 18:06:50 UTC 2024: ## Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement Chief Accuses Global Powers of Proxy War in Pashtun Lands

**SWAT, Pakistan:** Manzoor Pashteen, leader of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM), has accused the United States and China of engaging in proxy wars on Pashtun land, with Pashtuns bearing the brunt of the casualties. Speaking at a grand jirga in Swat, Pashteen lamented the ongoing division and internal conflict within the Pashtun community, which he believes is hindering their ability to defend themselves against external forces.

Pashteen claims that both superpowers are using Pashtun territories for their own geopolitical gain. The US, he alleges, is seeking to disrupt the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) by destabilizing Pashtun lands, while China is using the project to connect the world with shorter export routes. Caught in the crossfire, Pashtuns are facing devastating consequences, with thousands killed, missing, and their valuable resources plundered.

The PTM leader stressed the need for unity within the Pashtun community, calling on all Pashtuns to come together to defend their land and resources. He emphasized the importance of compiling data on Pashtun casualties, missing persons, and stolen resources, arguing that a united front is essential to address these issues and ensure the community’s progress.

The jirga in Swat was held to invite the people of Swat to the Pashtun Adalat (Court), scheduled for October 11th in Khyber district. The event aimed to foster unity and mobilization among Pashtuns to address the challenges facing their community.
