Tue Sep 10 23:19:52 UTC 2024: ## PlayStation Unveils PS5 Pro: More Power, Higher Price

**San Mateo, CA –** PlayStation has officially announced the release of its next-generation console, the PS5 Pro, set to launch on November 7th at a price of $699.99. This marks a significant increase from its predecessor, the PS5, which launched in November 2020 for $499. Pre-orders for the PS5 Pro will begin on September 26th.

The PS5 Pro boasts a number of upgrades compared to the original model, including a larger GPU, enhanced ray tracing capabilities, and AI-driven upscaling. These improvements promise a more immersive and visually stunning gaming experience.

PlayStation has confirmed that a number of popular titles, including “Alan Wake 2”, “Assassin’s Creed: Shadows”, “Demon’s Souls”, and “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2”, will be optimized for the PS5 Pro with free software updates and will be marked with a “PS5 Pro Enhanced” label.

The PS5 Pro will come equipped with a 2TB SSD, a DualSense wireless controller, and a pre-installed copy of “Astro’s Playroom”. It will be available as a disc-less console, with the option to purchase the PS5 disc drive separately. A stand for the console will also be sold separately.

The new PS5 Pro will have the same height as the original PS5 model, with a width matching the current “slim” edition.

This announcement comes as the gaming industry anticipates the release of Nintendo’s next-generation Switch console, expected to be announced by March, and the launch of Xbox’s special editions of the X and S Series this fall.
