**Hyderabad, India** – Meta has announced a two-year partnership with the Telangana government to empower public officials and citizens with cutting-edge AI technologies. This collaboration aims to enhance e-governance services, boost citizen engagement, and improve overall government efficiency.

The partnership will leverage Meta’s open-source Generative AI technologies, including its latest AI model, Llama 3.1. The state government plans to integrate AI into various domains such as education, healthcare, and agriculture, while equipping officials with AI tools for daily operations. This initiative aims to increase productivity for over 2 lakh government officials by 2025.

The government envisions using AI for a range of applications, including content writing, process optimization, data analysis, disease screening, health helplines, and even traffic management.

“This partnership will enable deployment of e-governance solutions by leveraging digital technologies to enhance government services, transparency, and citizen engagement,” stated Shivnath Thukral, Vice President and Head of Public Policy, Meta India.

Telangana’s AI strategy aligns with the national ‘India AI’ initiative, where Meta has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance AI research and development. This partnership aims to make AI resources more accessible to researchers, startups, and organizations with limited resources.

This latest collaboration marks a significant step towards leveraging AI for public good in India. It’s expected to contribute to the country’s digital transformation while improving service delivery and citizen engagement.
