Veteran Malayalam actress Manju Warrier is making a triumphant return to the silver screen after a 16-year hiatus. Despite being 46, she is attracting back-to-back offers, competing with younger actresses.

Manju began her acting career in 1995 with “Sakshyam” and established herself as a lead actress with “Sallapam” at the young age of 18. Her exceptional performance in “Ee Pooja Yum Gaadhan” earned her a state film award for Best Actress. Within just 5 years, she had starred in 20 films, including “Kanneyiti Pottu” which garnered her a National Award.

In 1998, at the peak of her career, Manju married actor Dileep. She retired from films a year later, raising their daughter. However, after 16 years, she discovered that her husband was in love with another woman. This led to a bitter separation in 2015 and Manju’s subsequent emotional distress, compounded by her daughter’s decision to live with her father.

Manju spent several years away from the spotlight, but made a comeback in 2014 with the film “How Old Are You.” She is currently working alongside superstar Rajinikanth in the upcoming movie “Veettaiyaan.”
