Tue Sep 10 18:37:59 UTC 2024: ## Madonna’s Son Makes Runway Debut at New York Fashion Week

**New York City, September 9, 2023** – Madonna’s second eldest son, David Banda, has officially joined the world of fashion, walking the runway for Off-White’s spring 2025 collection at New York Fashion Week. The 18-year-old musician, known for his own distinct style, followed in the footsteps of his older sister, Lourdes Leon, who has previously graced the coveted NYFW runway.

Banda, wearing a plaid collared vest, black pleated trousers, statement earrings, gloves, and flip-flops, walked the show alongside other celebrity relatives, including Beyoncé’s nephew, Daniel Julez J. Smith Jr. Madonna took to social media to celebrate her son’s debut, sharing glimpses of the show’s afterparty.

In 2022, Madonna revealed David’s passion for fashion, telling Jimmy Fallon that he “can put on any outfit and look swag.” She even admitted to being slightly envious of his style, saying, “He wears my clothes and looks better in them.”

The Off-White collection, designed by creative director Ib Kamara, drew inspiration from the vibrant culture of New York City and paid homage to the brand’s founder, Virgil Abloh. “I think America is a foundation of Off-White; I think it’s good to come home, show love to the city and the city to show love back,” Kamara told WWD.

The collection, influenced by Kamara’s own experiences in Ghana and Sierra Leone, celebrates the “dreamland of utopias made real” that New York represents for many. “It’s this beacon of imaginative hope,” Kamara explained to the New York Times. “In the ’90s, when I grew up, everybody was playing the lottery. Come to the U.S. because you have a better life. You have freedom, you have education.”

The show also featured a star-studded audience, including Mary J. Blige, Flavor Flav, Victoria Monét, Coco Jones, Ayra Starr, and June Ambrose. With David Banda’s successful runway debut, it seems the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree in the Madonna family.
