Tue Sep 10 14:52:00 UTC 2024: ## Jackal Attack in Madhya Pradesh Follows Recent Wolf Attacks in UP

**Sehore, Madhya Pradesh:** A jackal attack in Rehti tehsil has left six people injured, raising concerns about wildlife aggression in the region. The incident comes on the heels of a series of wolf attacks in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich district, where 10 people have been killed and 36 injured in the past month and a half.

The jackal attack in Rehti occurred during the day, with two men being caught on CCTV footage fending off the animal with stones. One of the men managed to grab the jackal and throw it away, but both sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment.

Following the incident, local authorities have appealed to residents to remain vigilant and travel in groups. The village panchayat has also alerted the forest department, which has promised compensation to the injured.

Meanwhile, in Bahraich, forest department officials have captured another wolf from the pack responsible for the recent attacks. This is the second wolf captured in the region after another was caught a few days prior. The captured wolf was found near the Ghaghara river.

The escalating incidents of wildlife attacks have prompted concerns about safety and security in both Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Authorities are urging residents to take precautions and are working to address the rising concerns over animal aggression.
