Actress Lucy Hale, known for her roles in “Pretty Little Liars” and “The Hating Game,” will be honored with the Humanitarian Award at the Friendly House Annual Luncheon on September 14th. This recognition celebrates Hale’s dedication to the non-profit organization, which provides residential substance abuse recovery programs for women.

Hale, who has been sober for over two years, emphasized the significance of the award beyond her personal journey. “This award represents the strength and vulnerability of everyone who has walked a similar path,” she said. She acknowledged the crucial role of support systems in her own recovery, stating, “I know that without the love, support, and resources I’ve had on my own journey that my life would look very different today.”

Beyond external support, Hale highlighted the importance of self-care and self-compassion in her 360-degree wellness approach. “Through grace, compassion, self-forgiveness, and commitment, I have been able to turn my life around,” she shared. Her daily routine includes prayer, meditation, digital detoxes, energy sessions, talk therapy, and prioritizing meaningful connections.

Hale further stressed the importance of mind-body-spirit connection, incorporating daily movement, nourishing meals, ample water intake, and adequate sleep into her routine. “I try to get some sort of movement every day, but I really listen to my body and what it needs,” she explained, highlighting her love for hiking, Pilates, yoga, and strength training.

Despite acknowledging her journey isn’t perfect, Hale exudes confidence in her ability to navigate life’s challenges. “I am not perfect and life isn’t perfect, but I now know I can handle anything that comes my way,” she shared.
