**Amsterdam, Netherlands (September 13, 2024) –** NVIDIA has unveiled its new AI-powered software-defined platform, Holoscan for Media, designed to revolutionize live media production and delivery. The platform allows companies to run live media and video pipelines on the same infrastructure as AI, leveraging the power of NVIDIA-accelerated hardware for enhanced production and delivery.
Holoscan for Media offers a unified platform for live media applications from various vendors, including AI captioning, live graphics, vision mixing, playout servers, encoding, decoding, transcoding, multiviewer, and NMOS controller. More applications will be added in the coming months.
The platform simplifies the development process, streamlines delivery to customers, and allows for easy integration of emerging technologies. Built on industry standards like ST 2110 and common APIs, Holoscan for Media meets the most stringent density and compliance requirements. It also incorporates essential services like Precision Time Protocol (PTP) and NMOS for interoperability and manageability, making it ideal for high-pressure live broadcast environments.
“NVIDIA is laying the foundation for software-defined broadcast, enhancing live media with expansive compute capabilities and a developer-friendly ecosystem,” said Christophe Ponsart, executive vice president and generative AI practice co-lead of Qvest. “This level of local compute, alongside NVIDIA’s powerful developer tools, empowers Qvest as a technology partner and integrator to rapidly innovate.”
Industry leaders, including Beamr, Harmonic, Pebble, Qvest, RAVEL, RT Software, Speechmatics, and Spicy Mango, are already leveraging Holoscan for Media, recognizing its potential to transform live media workflows.
“The Holoscan for Media platform leverages the powerful integration of live video and AI,” said Sharon Carmel, CEO of Beamr. “We are confident that our Holoscan for Media application will significantly enhance media pipelines performance by optimizing 4K p60 Live video streams with high efficiency.”
Attendees of the IBC 2024 content and technology event in Amsterdam can see Holoscan for Media in action across the show floor from September 13th to 16th.
**By transitioning to software-defined infrastructure with Holoscan for Media, companies can benefit from flexible deployment, resource scalability, and the latest video, predictive, and generative AI technologies.**
