**LONDON** – The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has announced the completion of her chemotherapy treatment after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. In a heartfelt statement released by Kensington Palace, the 42-year-old royal spoke about the challenges she and her family faced during the past nine months.
Middleton first revealed her diagnosis in March, outlining her decision to undergo preventative chemotherapy. She subsequently stepped back from public life to focus on her recovery.
In a video message, Middleton described her experience with treatment as “complex and humbling,” providing her with a new perspective on life. She emphasized the importance of family and love, which served as a source of strength throughout her recovery.
While relieved to have completed chemotherapy, the Princess acknowledged that her full recovery will take time. Her primary focus now is on remaining cancer-free.
Middleton has made a few public appearances this year, including at Trooping the Colour in June and Wimbledon in July. She is expected to participate in more public engagements later this year, including Remembrance events in November and her Christmas carol concert.
Despite the challenges, Middleton’s message is one of hope and gratitude. “Despite all that has gone before, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life,” she said. “William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time.”
Middleton also expressed solidarity with those continuing their own cancer journeys, stating, “To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.”
