**September 10, 2024** – TCL has unveiled a significant upgrade to its budget-friendly Icon 5 smartphone, boosting key features for an enhanced user experience. The new Icon 5 boasts a larger display with a faster refresh rate, a larger battery, improved cameras, increased storage, and the addition of NFC for contactless payments.

The upgrade includes a 50-megapixel main camera with LED flash, HDR, Portrait, Pro (manual), Night, and UHD modes, as well as a 2-megapixel depth camera. Other notable specs of this 4G phone remain similar to the previous model.
