Mon Sep 09 15:47:37 UTC 2024: ## Disney Adults Take Their Fandom to Extremes: Couple Loses $400,000 Lawsuit in Bid to Rejoin Exclusive Club 33

Disneyland, known as “The Happiest Place on Earth,” has always attracted a dedicated fanbase, especially among adults. However, one couple’s dedication to the theme park took a costly turn, resulting in a $400,000 lawsuit that they ultimately lost.

Scott and Diana Anderson, self-proclaimed Disney fanatics, were once members of Club 33, an exclusive, private establishment located inside Disneyland. Established by Walt Disney himself in 1967, the club features a luxurious bar and restaurant, surrounded by an aura of mystique and prestige. Membership comes at a hefty price, with an annual fee of $31,500 and a years-long waiting list.

The Andersons joined Club 33 in 2012 and frequently visited Disneyland, sometimes up to 80 times a year, spending an estimated $125,000 on travel and lodging. However, their Disney dream turned into a nightmare in 2017 when Scott was accused of being intoxicated on park grounds, violating Club 33 rules. This led to their membership termination.

Scott maintains he was simply experiencing migraines triggered by red wine, while Diana was previously suspended for using profanity. Undeterred, the couple filed a lawsuit demanding reinstatement to Club 33 and $250,000 in damages for lost dues and emotional distress.

Last week, a jury ruled in favor of Disney, upholding the decision to expel the Andersons. The couple’s legal battle cost them a staggering $400,000, forcing Scott to delay his retirement by five years. Diana, however, vows to keep fighting, stating she would “sell a kidney” to continue their pursuit of rejoining Club 33.

This case highlights the extreme lengths some Disney Adults will go to in their pursuit of the “magic” and their unwavering dedication to the theme park experience.
