Tue Sep 10 18:37:00 UTC 2024: ## Board Game Enthusiasts Gather for ZorCon II This Saturday
**LAKE JACKSON** – Get ready to roll the dice! ZorCon II, a gaming convention for board game lovers of all ages, will be held this Saturday, September 11th, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Dow Academic Center (500 College Blvd., Lake Jackson).
The event, organized by Richard Kropp, promises a full day of fun with a variety of games including role-playing, board games, card games, and even dominoes. Attendees can sign up online to participate in a game or host their own.
“This is our second convention and we’re excited to bring it back,” said Kropp. “There are so many amazing board games out there, and we want to provide a space for people to discover new ones and connect with others who share their passion.”
With 16 tables set up for gaming, ZorCon II caters to all tastes. Whether you’re a Dungeons and Dragons fan or prefer a classic like chess, there’s a game and community waiting for you.
Fantasy writer and board game creator Will Abel will be the special guest, presenting a new project he’s been working on. Sharon Barrow, a member of the Angleton Board, Card, and Dice Gamers Facebook group, will also be hosting a series of Ultimate Werewolf games.
“This is a family-friendly event that encourages people to unplug and enjoy the simple pleasure of playing a board game together,” Kropp said.
Admission is $10 per person. The Angleton Board, Card, and Dice Gamers group welcomes new members and meets at the Angleton library once or twice a month for gaming sessions.
“ZorCon II provides a fantastic opportunity for people to explore different games and discover new favorites,” said Barrow. “We are open to teaching any game to anyone, so don’t be afraid to come and join the fun!”
