**SAULT STE. MARIE, ON** – The community mourns the loss of Dennis Becker, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who passed away on Saturday, September 7th, 2024, at the age of 70.
Becker was a cherished life partner and husband to Sylvia (Parlowe) for 30 years, and a devoted father to Erin Mackay and Megan Becker. He was also a treasured bonus dad to Christopher and Megan Parlowe.
Known for his “huge heart” and “wonderfully eccentric, magical way,” Becker will be remembered by his family and friends for his kindness and humor.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations can be made in his memory to An Evening at Hogwarts, with all proceeds going directly to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation Cancer Care Fund.
Becker’s passing comes after a seven-year battle with cancer, during which he received exceptional care from Dr. Mohammed Rassouli of SAH, Dr. Jaqueline Lam, and the surgical teams at UHN Toronto. The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to all the medical professionals who helped extend Becker’s life.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre.
