**SEATTLE -** The Seattle Storm secured a convincing 90-66 victory over the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday night, propelled by a strong performance from Jewell Loyd and Jordan Horston. Loyd led the scoring with 20 points, while Horston added 16 points on an impressive 7-of-8 shooting night.

The Storm’s dominance was evident in the second quarter, where they outscored the Mercury 28-13, thanks to Horston’s 11-point contribution. A 17-4 run sparked by a Horston hook shot gave Seattle a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

Skylar Diggins-Smith contributed a double-double with 12 points and 11 assists, while Nneka Ogwumike added 10 points and 8 rebounds for Seattle. The Storm’s efficient shooting included 12 three-pointers and just six turnovers.

Diana Taurasi led Phoenix with 18 points, but the Mercury struggled offensively, shooting a dismal 37.5% from the field.

This victory moves the Seattle Storm within 1.5 games of Las Vegas for the No. 4 seed, while Phoenix falls further behind in the race for the sixth seed, now 1.5 games behind Indiana.
