**Paris, France -** Great Britain’s Finlay Graham has added another gold medal to his Paralympic Games haul, winning the men’s C1-3 road race in a thrilling sprint finish. The 24-year-old cyclist edged out France’s Thomas Peyroton-Dartet in the 71km race, securing Britain’s 43rd gold medal of the Games.
Graham, who also won silver in the men’s C3 3,000m individual pursuit earlier in the Games, broke away with Peyroton-Dartet and Alexandre Leaute on the third of five laps. Leaute eventually faded, taking bronze, while Graham and Peyroton-Dartet battled it out to the finish line.
The British team enjoyed further success in the race, with Benjamin Watson, Jaco van Gass, and Matthew Robertson finishing fifth, sixth, and seventh respectively. In the women’s race, Daphne Schrager finished sixth and Fran Brown seventh, with the victory going to Japan’s Keiko Sugiura.
Graham’s win takes the total number of medals for Great Britain at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games to an impressive 101. The Games conclude on Sunday.
