Sun Sep 08 02:46:31 UTC 2024: The state government has directed district administration to achieve 100% target by September 12, 2024 for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in all districts of Jharkhand. 5295 needy families in the rural areas of Dhanbad will benefit from the PMAY scheme. 60% of the housing construction benefits will be given to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, while 40% will be given to other categories. Each beneficiary will receive Rs. 1.20 lakh for the construction of a two-room house under the scheme. Additionally, 90 days of wages under the MNREGA scheme will also be provided as human labor. The guidelines mandate that out of the total target of 5295 poor families, 3062 SC/ST families will benefit, while 2233 needy families from other categories will also receive benefits. Family members using three- and four-wheeled vehicles for agricultural purposes, earning more than Rs. 15,000 per month, owning 2.5 acres of irrigated land or 5 acres of rain-fed land, are not eligible for the PMAY scheme. The financial assistance will be provided in three installments, with the last installment being credited directly to the beneficiaries’ accounts.
