– The method includes the use of the new anti-TB drug pretomanid along with bedaquiline and linezolid (with or without moxifloxacin).
– The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization has already provided approval and licensing for pretomanid in India.
– The BPLM method is considered safer, more effective, and faster than the traditional MDR-TB treatment, with a success rate of curing drug-resistant TB in just six months.
– The approval for this new treatment has been granted after a thorough review by experts in the field of TB.
