– Sema achieved a personal best of 14.65 metres in his throws
– Sema lost his left leg in a landmine blast in 2002 and started shot put at the age of 32
– He previously won bronze at the 2023 Asian Para Games and finished fourth in the World Championships
– Yasin Khosravi of Iran set a new Paralympics record with a throw of 15.96m to win gold
– Another Indian athlete, Soman Rana, finished fifth in the shot put final with a best throw of 14.07 metres.
