– Once Kraunch accidentally stepped on Muni Vamadeva’s foot while laughing with the Apsaras, which angered the Muni and he cursed Kraunch to turn into a mouse.
– After the curse, Kraunch turned into a mouse and entered the ashram of Rishi Parashar, destroying all vessels and clothing.
– Seeing Rishi Parashar distressed, Lord Ganesha questioned the reason and upon hearing the mischief of the mouse, Ganesha threw his noose to catch the mouse.
– The noose caught the mouse in the Netherworld, and after seeking forgiveness and asking for protection, Kraunch became Ganesha’s vehicle.
– Kraunch the mouse became Ganesha’s vehicle after seeking forgiveness and protection.
