– Vinesh Phogat was recently disqualified from the Paris Olympics for exceeding the weight limit just before the finals.
– Vinesh Phogat was born on August 25, 1994, in Balali village in Haryana, and lost his father, wrestler Rajpal Singh Phogat, at a young age.
– Vinesh Phogat’s mother is Prem Lata Phogat, and he has siblings including brother Harvinder and sister Priyanka, who is also a wrestler.
– Vinesh Phogat married wrestler Somveer Rathi in December 2018 after meeting him during their jobs at the Indian Railways.
– The couple got engaged after Vinesh won a gold medal at the Jakarta Asian Games in 2018 and got married in a ceremony where they pledged to support initiatives like “Save the Daughter, Educate the Daughter, Feed the Daughter.”
