
Indian shooter Ramita Jindal finished 7th in the women’s 10m air rifle final at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She was involved in a shoot-off with France’s Oceanne Muller for elimination and bowed out with a total score of 145.3 points. Ramita had initially held third place but slipped to seventh after a low score on her 10th shot. She rallied with better scores to avoid elimination but ultimately lost in the shoot-off. Ramita, a Khelo India Scholarship and Target Olympic Podium Scheme athlete, began her rifle shooting career at the age of 13 and has received significant government support for training and competitions. Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh also advanced to the 10m air pistol mixed team final, with a chance to compete for the bronze medal.
