Magul Maha Viharaya, also known as the Great Royal Temple, holds significant historical importance in Sri Lanka. It was built by King Kavantissa in the 2nd century BC and was the location where King Kavantissa and Queen Viharamahadevi had their royal wedding. The temple is located in Lahugala, 15 km away from Pottuvil in the Ampara District.
